The Kindred Trilogy is a love story across dimensions, about an undying love between a ghost cowboy and a living prep school girl. A love that crosses the chasm between life and death. I wrote this because I believe in ghosts, and I believe in love, and I think cowboys are hot. Even when they’re dead.

One of the most exciting moments for an author is when the first box of galleys, or advance reader copies, of her new novel arrive in the mail! This happened to me last week with The Temptation. I danced around like Mick Jagger and David Bowie in the “Dancing in the Streets” video, which is not only embarrassing but should seriously also be illegal. But, you know. Sometimes a writer just can’t help herself.

Ugh. Okay. I do not love exclamation points. Especially when they’re as overused as an old man’s dentures.

I love this book!!!

Okay, really. I’ll calm down…now. This time, I mean it.

The characters feel so real to me, I sometimes wonder if I channeled them instead of making them up. No, I’m not kidding. Yes, I know that sounds weird. Yes, I believe in ghosts. No, they don’t scare me. Well, okay. That’s a lie. Some of them scare me. Especially the accounting professor in my last house, who decided to keep his greasy combover all the way into the afterlife. Most ghosts do not scare me, however. Just the ones with bad taste.

Now, if you’ll pardon me, I gotta go swagger like Jagger. Shake me a tail feather. Do the hokie pokie and turn myself around. Cuz that’s what it’s all about. Or so I’ve heard.

Thank goodness for curtains. I know better than to let my neighbors see this dizzying display of crazy stupid…
